Calos: AI Calorie Tracker — Last updated: February 28, 2026
Calos: AI Calorie Tracker ("Calos", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, and protect information when you use the Calos mobile application and related services (the "Service").
Who we are (data controller):
Calos: AI Calorie Tracker
Contact: info.trimtone@gmail.com
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the Service.
1) What Calos does
Calos helps you track food intake and nutrition. You can log meals manually and/or by submitting a meal photo. Calos uses AI to estimate nutritional information such as calories and macros. Estimates are informational and may be inaccurate.
2) Information we collect
A. Information you provide
- Meal information you enter (e.g., food names, portions, notes).
- Meal photos (if you choose to upload/take a photo for analysis).
- Nutrition-related entries you create in the app (e.g., daily totals, goals, or similar tracking data if available in your version of the app).
- Support requests (content of messages you send us and any attachments).
B. Information collected automatically
- Device and app data (e.g., device type, OS version, app version, language, time zone, app events like feature usage).
- Identifiers such as a device identifier or an app-generated ID (typically pseudonymous).
- Diagnostics such as crash logs and performance data (to maintain and improve the Service).
- Approximate location may be inferred from IP address when contacting our servers (not precise GPS location unless you explicitly grant it and we use it).
C. Subscription / purchase data
If you purchase a subscription (e.g., via Apple In-App Purchase), we may receive purchase and subscription status (such as whether you have an active subscription), but we do not receive your full payment card details. Payments are handled by the app store and/or purchase partners.
3) How we use your information
We use information to:
- Provide the Service, including calculating and displaying nutrition estimates and tracking logs.
- Process meal photos using AI to estimate calories/macros (see Section 4).
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app (e.g., fix bugs, prevent abuse, optimize performance).
- Provide customer support and respond to requests.
- Manage subscriptions and access to premium features.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
4) AI processing and meal photo analysis
If you submit a meal photo for analysis:
- We process the image and related inputs (such as any text you add) to generate an estimate of calories/macros.
- This may involve sending the photo (and relevant context you provide) to third-party AI service providers that perform the analysis on our behalf.
- We aim to minimize what is shared to what's necessary to provide the feature.
Important: AI outputs are estimates and may be wrong. Do not rely on Calos for medical decisions. If you have dietary restrictions or health conditions, consult a qualified professional.
5) Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK users)
If you are in the EEA/UK, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases:
- Contract: to provide the Service you request (meal logging, nutrition estimates, subscriptions).
- Consent: for optional features like accessing the camera/photos, and (where required) processing certain nutrition-related information.
- Legitimate interests: to secure, maintain, and improve the Service, prevent fraud/abuse, and understand how the app is used (balanced against your rights).
- Legal obligation: to comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.
You can withdraw consent at any time by changing your device settings (e.g., camera/photo permissions) and/or stopping use of the relevant feature.
6) How we share information
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share information with:
- AI processing providers (to analyze meal photos and return nutrition estimates).
- Cloud hosting / backend providers (to store and deliver the Service).
- Analytics and crash reporting providers (to understand performance and fix issues).
- Subscription and purchase partners (to validate and manage subscription entitlements).
- Legal and safety: if required by law, to protect rights/safety, investigate fraud, or respond to lawful requests.
Service providers are authorized to use your information only as needed to provide services to us, under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
7) Data retention
We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, including:
- While your account or app usage is active, and
- As needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements.
Where possible, you can delete meal entries within the app. You may also request deletion of your data by contacting us at info.trimtone@gmail.com.
8) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9) International transfers
Our providers may process information outside your country (including outside the EEA/UK). When we transfer personal data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) where required by law.
10) Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights such as:
- Access, correction, deletion, and portability of your information
- Objection to processing or restriction of processing
- Withdrawal of consent (where processing is based on consent)
- The right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EEA/UK)
To exercise rights, contact info.trimtone@gmail.com. We may need to verify your request.
California notice (if applicable): We do not sell personal information as defined by the CCPA/CPRA. You may have rights to access, delete, correct, and limit certain uses of sensitive personal information.
11) Children's privacy
Calos is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12) Third-party links and services
The Service may interact with third-party services (for example, app stores, payment processors, analytics, AI processing). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
13) Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and/or on our website and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service where appropriate.
